Jersey City, across the river from Manhattan. Iris Calder was a photojournalist until a parking garage collapsed under her three years ago. Now she photographs lit windows at night from her fifth-floor apartment. One Thursday at 9:12 p.m., her long lens catches two figures on the 38th floor of the Meridian Tower. Then the light goes out. A contemporary neo-noir thriller.
